Life in Technicolor II + WIP shots

This took me two or so weekends to finish so ITS BEEN SOMETHING I HAVE BEEN IN CONSTANT STRUGGLES OVER. Although now, as I look at it objectively, it doesn't seem so long.
Mainly this was to let me practice backgrounds a little bit of perspective, which, I conclude- I NEED WORK ON. ;A; RARGH.
I think I like how it came out though, and I'm definitely eager to start a new piece to practice what I learnt from this one: (which is)
1. Color carefully- it's a tad messy.
2. Don't fret too much over colors when just blocking.
3. My people skills are marginally better than my building's.
And most importantly four- DO NOT BE SCARED OF LINE-ART.

Oh this is a slightly more vibrant and saturated version as opposed to the one before the final edit. If you think you'd like that one more, just put it in a comment and I'll replace it with the other, because honestly I'm not sure which one I like more.

NOTE: This was inspired by European alleyways, since in my time living in Europe I have a fondness for them. The shoes on the clothing wires, TECHNICAL TERM (WOAH)- shoeffiti, isn't just for the heck of throwing perfectly good shoes. Actually they are used to mark the presence of a crack house in the area, or to commemorate an area where a fellow gang member had died. I'll leave it up to you to interpret what all the elements of the piece together mean~ *wink wink*

Light Blue Prismacolor + F and Mechanical Pencil + Paint Tool SAI for sketching and line-art- 2-3 hours: building reference from Google Images //i actually sort of melded together loads and made some up in the end//

Bamboo Capture + Paint Tool SAI + Photoshop CS5 + MacBook Pro for coloring- (I wasn't really acutely aware of the time taken, only that it wasn't short), approx. 11-12 hrs
